FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS - INTRODUCES CHEER PROGRAM

Friday Night Lights, The largest Youth Flag Football League in the United States is pleased to introduce a FIRST CLASS and AFFORDABLE Sideline Cheer Program for kids in Grades 1st-8th for the Fall, 2010 Season.  Now the entire family can experience the FUN and COMRADERIE that is the cornerstone of the Friday Night Lights Football League.  

Registration will include one indoor practice per week, cheering their age appropriate group on Friday Nights and their Cheer Outfits (see below).  Your daughters training will include: Sideline Cheer, arm movements, jumps and halftime dance.  There will be no "stunts" or "tumbling" taught in this program.  This program will be about promoting cheer, safety and a GOOD TIME!

The FNL Cheer program will be under the direction of Nida (Nafarrete) Pagett and Annette Morris.  Together they have over 20 years experience instructing DANCE and CHEER.  

Nida has extensive experience in performing, teaching and coaching both dance and cheer for over 20 years.  She received her degree in dance from UC Irvine.  Her cheer experience includes: Los Alamitos H.S, UC Irvine and the Los Angeles Rams Pep Squad and Cheer.  She has also instructed the US Spiritleaders Cheer and Dance organization for 5 years.  She continues to teach dance to young girls at Center Stage Dance Studio in Long Beach.

Annette has been involved extensively at the teaching level of Cheer and the Competition level of Cheerleading.  She has over 10 years of cheerleading experience and is currently the Team Facilitator for the Junior All-Star team with the HSC Cheer program.  Annette spent three years with  Los Alamitos Pop Warner where she directed her teams to Nationals as the Assistant Coordinator and Head Coordinator.  She spent her high school years cheering for Downey High School.  Her leadership has taken her cheer squads from San Diego to Florida to compete at the National levels.

     - Practice Day/Times: Tuesdays 5:00-6:00pm and 6:00-7:00pm

FNL CHEER

 

 

Practice:

¨      One practice a week for an hour at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church Gym

¨      Wear comfortable clothing that you can move easily  in (t-shirt, Shorts/sweats, tennis shoes)

¨      Hair pulled back out of your face (ponytail if possible)

¨      Bring water

¨      Ready to have fun!!!!!

 

Games:

¨      Girls will cheer for their age appropriate football team

¨      Show up 30 minutes before game time

¨      Cheer for an hour on Friday nights-   there will be a section marked off for cheerleaders

¨      There will be a coach (high school volunteer) with each group at games

¨      Be in full uniform:

                        FNL T-shirt

                        Skort

                        Pom poms

                        Hair ribbon

                        Megaphone

                        Bag

                        Socks

                        White tennis shoes

                        NO MAKE-UP!!!!

¨      Optional: clothing to wear when cheering at games-  It does get quite cold.
